Health Information and HIPAA Notice
Effective and last updated: October 1, 2026
This notice explains how health information is handled when you use Haptic, and how to exercise your rights under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). It is provided by Haptic Health, LLC, doing business as Haptic.
Haptic's Role
Haptic provides the consumer facing platform and facilitates access to telehealth services. Haptic is not a pharmacy, does not employ pharmacists, does not dispense medication, and does not diagnose or prescribe. Haptic protects health information it receives according to applicable law and its contractual obligations.
Who Maintains Your Health Information
- Licensed clinicians: independent licensed healthcare professionals who review your intake and decide whether treatment is appropriate.
- Clinical platform providers: the partners through which those clinical services are delivered and medical records are maintained.
- Pharmacies: Manifest Pharmacy, as host pharmacy, and participating pharmacies in its pharmacy network, as applicable, fill prescriptions. Your prescription label identifies the pharmacy that dispensed your medication.
- Laboratories: when a program requires testing.
- Authorized service providers of the entities above.
Medical records, clinical information, prescriptions, lab information, and other protected health information (PHI) may be created, maintained, or processed by these entities. Those that are covered by HIPAA maintain their own Notices of Privacy Practices, which describe how they use and disclose your PHI. Contact Haptic and we will help you obtain them.
How Information Is Used
- to allow a licensed clinician to evaluate you and make treatment decisions;
- to transmit a prescription, if issued, to a pharmacy for fulfillment;
- to order laboratory testing when required and authorized;
- to process payment and manage your order and subscription;
- to communicate with you about your care, order, and account; and
- to meet legal, safety, and record keeping obligations.
Haptic does not sell PHI and does not disclose clinical information to Google, Meta, advertising networks, or social platforms for their independent advertising purposes. See "Health Information and Advertising Technologies" in our Privacy Policy.
Your HIPAA Rights
Under HIPAA, patients generally have the right to:
- access and obtain a copy of their medical records, including in electronic form;
- request an amendment to their records;
- receive an accounting of certain disclosures;
- request restrictions on certain uses and disclosures;
- request confidential communications by alternative means or at an alternative location;
- be notified of a breach of unsecured PHI; and
- file a complaint without retaliation.
These rights may need to be exercised with the covered entity that actually maintains the record, such as the clinician, clinical platform provider, or pharmacy. Contact Haptic and we will help direct your request. You may also file a complaint with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office for Civil Rights at www.hhs.gov/ocr/complaints.
Authorizations
Some disclosures, such as those in the HIPAA Authorization presented at checkout, require your written authorization. You may revoke an authorization as described in that document, except to the extent action has already been taken in reliance on it.
